As the chairperson of the Conference from the University of Tokyo, I wish to extend our warmest welcome to the 5th International Supply Chain Management Symposium and Workshop. This conference is jointly organized by the University of Tokyo (Japan), the University of Toledo (U.S.A.), IE Business School (Spain), PSG Institute of Management (India), Kyungpook National University (Korea), and supported by The Japan Society of Logistics Systems.
After the earthquake and nuclear power plant disaster in last March, Japanese economy is now on the way of quick recovering process. It is our great pleasure to host this prestigious conference at this point of time, since we believe we can share our experience in Japan as well as ideas and insights regarding emerging issues in supply chain management and logistics.
